The book “The Joy Luck Club” by Amy
Tan talks about the stories of four families in Joy Luck Club. It begins with
Jing-Mei Woo joins the Joy Luck Club instead of her mother because of the death
of her mother. They are talking about the Chinese culture and new immigrants’
life. All of us are interested in the Lindo Jong’s story. It describes her
marriage, but she didn’t love her husband. She told a lie in order to run away
from her husband’s family, and she went to America to start her new life. It also
says Jing-Mei’s mother went to America because of the war. Her mother had a
tough life, and she forced her daughter to do everything. However, Jing-Mei had
her own idea, and they had a lot of problems of the relationship. We like the
book, and we learn a lot of the book.
